Objectives
La riqueza de la herencia cultural hispánica durante las etapas Medieval y Moderna, con sus consecuencias en el mundo contemporáneo, se contemplan en esta asignatura que tiene como objetivo formar a los estudiantes en aspectos fundamentales de la cultura hispánica, en particular la española. A todas y a todos les resulta familiar aspectos de esta herencia como la afluencia al CAMINO DE SANTIAGO al que llegan gentes de todas partes del mundo, o la importancia cultural del SIGLO DE ORO español con repercusiones en las letras y las artes europeas. Los estudiantes de origen asiático pueden valorar la importancia cultural de los periodos Medieval y Moderno teniendo en cuenta que se trata de un tiempo coincidente con la época en la que el imperio chino pasaba por dinastías con un gran impacto cultural (Tang, Song, Yuan y Ming). 1. Adquirir los conocimientos necesarios para valorar la herencia recibida de la cultura medieval y renacentista 2. Profundizar en algunos de los temas fundamentales que el alumnado va a encontrar en la herencia cultural procedentes de tiempos lejanos y que permanecen en la cultura actual: análisis del mundo urbano, del panorama artístico y literario, del Humanismo, y de aspectos de carácter social que tienen incidencia en la cultura que ha llegado a nuestros días 3. Alcanzar el nivel de competencia que permita al alumnado identificar los fenómenos culturales que la actualidad ha heredado de las etapas Medieval y Moderna 4. Obtener una capacidad de análisis histórico a través de la práctica metodológica de los hechos culturales de esas etapas de la Historia. 5. Adquirir los conocimientos necesarios en relación con fuentes primarias y secundarias que permita al alumnado iniciarse en la investigación de la herencia cultural recibida de las etapas Medieval y Moderna

Learning activities and methodology
1. Magisterial lessons The professor will dedicate part of the session to expose the knowledge that the students must acquire, and explain the pre-existing readings. The students will have previously received - in a global classroom - reference texts that will allow them to understand and deepen the contents of the subject taught. 2. Practical classes. Some of the classes will be dedicated to work with specific documentation, bibliographic, documentary, textual, or visual that allows students a more accurate approach to the contents of the subject, while encouraging debate on the aspects studied. 3. Discussion groups. As a consequence of classroom practices, or as part of these practices, debates will be held on specific problems that help students to better determine the specific skills that must be acquired in the course, promoting critical analysis and examination of documentary sources. both primary and secondary. 4. Exhibitions. The students will have the option to present the results and materials studied, with the aim of favoring learning and the acquisition of competences in the domain of presentation and public dissemination of the work carried out.
