Acquisition of basic technology skills that enable optimization information of the photographic image

Description of contents: programme

Theory and technique of the photographic image. Treatment of the photographic image in the press and electronic media. - Photography as an information item: Specifics. - Diachronic brief tour and features the use of photography in news media today. - Treating the photographic information - Camera types - The camera and its elements: practical applications - Lens and elements: practical applications - 35mm film: negative and slide - Digital images: the photographic point to the pixel - Genres of photojournalism: news, story and interview - Graphic editing: composition and creativity

Learning activities and methodology

Combination of theoretical teaching (3 ECTS) and case studies (ECTS). The first will be targeted in two ways: lectures and conceptual work by students from the guidelines decided the same and transmitted conceptual repertoires. The case studies are oriented to the domain of photographic techniques and the translation of the lessons learned in products intended for playback on media.

Assessment System

60% of the final grade derived from the right conceptual assimilation and the student's ability to apply these concepts to known or novel fields of expertise, as well as the demonstration that dominates the photographic technique, treatment and selection of photographic material informational purposes.
The remaining 40% will correspond to the final exam that will test the knowledge of the theoretical.
