This course aims to address essential issues and topics to understand the complexity of Spanish society. Nationalism, Catholicism, social struggles or the generation gap will be some of the topics to be addressed. In this sense, it will be essential to study the events and processes in the Twentieth century through a dialogue between past and present. The main objectives are: - Understand the political, social, economic and cultural aspects that define today's Spain. - Analyze the historical evolution of Spain since the 20th century.

Active participation will be required, as it will provide students with analytical, critical and communication skills. Class attendance is mandatory. The course will be based on lectures and class work.
