1. Physical fundamentals of brain imaging: modalities 2. Molecular imaging of the brain: PET and SPECT 3. PET and SPECT tracers for brain imaging 4. Brain imaging by Nuclear Magnetic Resonance Imaging 5. BOLD signal properties 6. Signal to noise ratio and its enhancement 7. Segmentation and quantification of the brain image in the different modalities. 8. Analysis techniques in neuroimaging: general linear models, statistical methods, SPM. 9. Data visualisation and representation techniques
Learning activities and methodology
Classroom lectures. Face-to-face classes: reduced (workshops, seminars, case studies). Student individual work. Laboratory session. Final exam. Seminars and lectures supported by computer and audiovisual aids. Practical learning based on cases and problems, and exercise resolution. Individual and group or cooperative work with the option of oral or written presentation. Individual and group tutorials to resolve doubts and queries about the subject. Internships and directed laboratory activities.
