Requirements (Subjects that are assumed to be known)
It is not necessary to pass any subject before doing the Professional Internships.
Objectives
The objective of this subject is to introduce the student to the world of business. In addition to the above, internships in companies offer the student the possibility of putting the acquired knowledge into practice, as well as understanding the importance of practical aspects in solving a problem. The competences that the student acquires are the following: 1. Possess and understand knowledge that provides a basis or opportunity to be original in the development and / or application of ideas, often in a research context. 2. That students know how to apply the acquired knowledge and their ability to solve problems in new or unfamiliar environments within broader (or multidisciplinary) contexts related to their area of ¿¿study. 3. That students possess the learning skills that allow them to continue studying in a way that will be largely self-directed or autonomous. 4. Ability to understand aspects in the design of industrial plants. 5. Ability to design and calculate conventional and advanced structural solutions in industrial plants. 6. Be able to apply local, regional, national and / or international standards and regulations in the field of Industrial Construction. 7. Ability to apply the knowledge and skills acquired in the Master to professional environments. Learning outcomes: 1. Knowledge of the work environment where the student will develop their professional activity. 2. Development of skills and abilities based on the knowledge acquired in the development and overcoming of the Master's subjects. 3. The skills and abilities required for its application to real environments in the engineering and industrial construction sector. 4. Ability to solve problems within the field of Industrial Construction.
Skills and learning outcomes
Description of contents: programme
Content is understood to be all those activities carried out by students in companies, entities and organizations, which are intended to provide a practical complement (or academic-practical complement) to academic training provided that said activity is related to their academic training and their possible career opportunities. In particular, the training objective of the practice will necessarily include the following aspects: - Tasks to be developed by the student. - Knowledge that the student will acquire. - If you will participate in design, planning or development tasks. - Within which projects or areas will the practices be framed. - Tools to be used.
Learning activities and methodology
The student will have a tutor in the company in order to direct, guide and supervise their activity in practice. They will also have an academic tutor at UC3M who will be informed about the progress of the practice and will provide support to the student if necessary. She will carry out the tutorials that she considers necessary and will also grade the student. Practical work 5 ECTS = 150 hours. They develop the competencies defined in the subject. It consists of carrying out practical work in the company by a tutor from the company. Evaluation: 1 ECTS = 30 hours. Carrying out a report on the work carried out during the internships in the company. Its aim is to check that the student has made good use of their internship time and has acquired the skills appropriately.
Assessment System
The evaluation system includes the evaluation of the activities carried out during the internships in the company. For this, the following elements will be used: -Report of the tutor in the company: The academic tutor of the Uc3m will request this report from the tutor of the company. -Memory of the student: of the work carried out during the practices. It will be carried out according to the instructions published in Aula Global to which you will have access once the subject has been enrolled. Both elements will give a grade of 100%, being essential the report of the tutor in the company. The academic Tutor at UC3M, based on the previous documents, will qualify in the form established for this purpose. Students who do not present the report will be graded NOT PRESENTED. The Tutor must send the certificate with this qualification. If the student abandons the practice for which the subject has been validated and enrolled without having reached the hours corresponding to the credits to be passed, they will be graded with NOT PRESENTED because she will not be able to present the report.

The course syllabus may change due academic events or other reasons.
