The aim of this course is to provide students with the necessary knowledge of the issues covered by the concept of Cultural Heritage, its different perspectives and contents, as well as the instruments for its management. First of all, it is necessary to understand what constitutes cultural heritage, both tangible and intangible, its economic and social power, as well as its structural weaknesses. From this point on, management strategies can be established that allow us to have a solid criterion on the policies concerning heritage and the mechanisms for transferring the value of heritage to society. The ultimate goal is to achieve a citizen who is involved and responsible for cultural heritage, capable of proposing initiatives related to sustainable management and effective dissemination procedures.
