Description of contents: programme
They may only register for the Bachelor dissertation (TFG) the students who enroll all outstanding issues for the completion of their studies. They may only be present and defend the TFG students who have passed all subjects who are qualified in their academic record. In the event that the TFG is pre- sented in a period in which the acts of a call have not been closed, it is also necessary to have no more than thirty credits, including the TFG, outstan- ding qualify. Students who have enrolled the TFG and did not meet this requirement at the end of the academic year, waive the notice and shall pro- ceed with the presentation and defense of the TFG in the next academic year. TFG is implementation of a single character work in which the student applies to a specific problem in the field of qualifications, knowledge, skills and competencies they have acquired during their studies. The work involves defining a topic, search literature, conduct original research, write and present the results orally in court. Students will get to know a historical and/or political science topic in depth; put into practice the theoretical, methodological and technical and instrumental skills acquired throughout the degree; acquire practical experience in using research methods making; become familiar with strategies for reporting scientific and empirical information in the context of a rigorous academic work; be able to explain why they chose a specific topic, how structured their research, and how they reached their conclusions and what were their sources. The content of the TFG in the Degree of History and Politics can be very diverse: - Works of historical or political content. - Analysis and resolution of real case studies in the field of qualification. - Literature review and description of the situation and the state of the art in a particular subject. In the Degree in History and Political Science, the TFG is offered in two possible ways: a) General: The Academic Director of the degree determined according to the departments who teach in the degree one or more themes to be made as work order degree in each academic year, students organized in groups of 20 students for guidance and protection activities. The training activities of Bachelor Dissertation included in the general form general orientation sessions, taught in the classroom to the whole group, individual guidance ses- sions, and personal tutorials. b) Specific: it is a specific topic work to be performed by a single student under the direction of a teacher of the University. If done in a different institu- tion to University Carlos III of Madrid, the direction of TFG may be held by a foreign university graduates to college, but must have a tutor assigned to the UC3M. Besides the possibility that students are proposing the theme of work, as long as a teacher agrees to be the tutor for the subject it is supported.
Assessment System
The University uses the Turnitin Feedback Studio program within the Aula Global for the delivery of student work. This program compares the originality of the work delivered by each student with millions of electronic resources and detects those parts of the text that are copied and pasted. If the student has correctly made the appointment and the bibliographic reference of the documents he uses as a source, Turnitin will not mark it as plagiarism.
