Objectives
General Competences: GC1; Ability to understand the main factors involved in geopolitical and strategic analysis GC2: Ability to understand and analyze from a critical perspective the territorial dimension of the discourses and practices that guide international politics, as well as to contribute to the public debate about them and to deepen the values of democracy, dialogue, tolerance, social and environmental justice and peace. GC3: Ability to understand and analyze national and international conflicts that have a territorial origin or influence and propose political strategies and instruments that can contribute to their resolution GC4: Ability to apply the theoretical and methodological knowledge of geopolitical and strategic studies to the analysis and resolution of cases and concrete empirical problems GC5: Ability to demonstrate critical thinking in the analytical arguments of their own and of others. GC6: Ability to plan and carry out an autonomous research in the field of geopolitics and strategic studies. GC7: Ability to communicate and present, in a clear, precise and rigorous manner, geopolitical and strategic reports to both specialized and non-specialized audiences Learning results: This subject aims at the student to acquire the ability to integrate and work in academic and professional multidisciplinary teams related to the field of geopolitical and strategic studies, as well as to apply to real situations the theoretical and methodological knowledge received throughout the master. In order to meet the objectives, the student should be able to: - Use the theories, methods and techniques learned to explain the facts and interpret the results linked to the cases and problems that arise. - Analyze and know the real scenarios in which you can develop your work practices and your professional activity. -Gather and synthesize all relevant information that allows you to make a diagnosis of the work to be done. From this diagnosis, the student should be able to make proposals and provide solutions in relation to the issues addressed in his work.
Skills and learning outcomes
Description of contents: programme
-The student will carry out professional internships in public or private centers outside the university and directly related to the content and orientation of the master such as: think tanks, companies or institutions with departments of international and strategic studies, international journalism or international communication, institutions linked to defense, diplomacy and the promotion of cooperation and external relations, NGOs, etc. - Interships must be approved by the master's direction, considering the training plan to be carried out. The functions to be performed by the trainee student should imply the possibility of applying knowledge acquired in the master's degree, as well as the acquisition of new knowledge and the development of skills required for the professional profiles most directly related to the master's content. -The number of places offered in this course will be limited according to the existing agreements with the centers offering internships. Likewise, the selection of students for the internships should take into account the specific requirements and criteria stipulated in this respect by the respective agreements, which may include, among others, adequate knowledge of the Spanish language.
Assessment System
Assessment of Internships -Internship survey by the tutor of the institution: 60% of the final grade. -Report by the student describing his/her activities at the institution: 40% of the final grade.
