The Workshop on mapping and graphical representations is one of three courses that make up Subject 2: Methods and techniques of geopolitical and strategic analysis. Conceived as a workshop, the course is essentially a practical course focused on training the students in the critical reading, comprehension and, especially, the production of cartographies and other graphical representations in the field of geopolitics and strategic studies.
The workshop is essentially oriented to the integrative learning of different computer programs (Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Photoshop, QGIS and Microsoft Excel and ArcGIS online or Carto) with the aim of providing the necessary set of tools and knowledge that will make the students able to significantly improve their communication skills. After the course, the students will be able to produce attractive and meaningful cartographies and other graphical representations in an autonomous way. This skill will allow the students to enrich the geopolitical and strategic reports that they will have to produce in the third and final course of Subject 2, the Workshop on geopolitical and strategic reports.
In addition to the aforementioned specific competences and learning results, this workshop aims to strengthen the following general competences and skills:
Ability to understand the main factors involved in geopolitical and strategic analysis.
