Objectives

Students should acquire a reasonable level of knowledge regarding: a) the general outlook of the Spanish fundamental rights and public liberties, and its guarantee system b) some particular rights and liberties, in particular those related with public order

GENERAL CONCEPTS AND GUARANTEES SYSTEM 1st Lesson: Fundamental Rights in the Spanish Constitution 2nd Lesson: Guarantees system 3rd Lesson: Suspension of rights and freedoms FUNDAMENTAL RIGHTS ANALYSIS 4th Lesson: Equality and non discrimination 5th Lesson: Right to life and integrity. 6th Lesson: Right to liberty and security; freedom of movement and residence 7th lesso:freedom of thought, conscience and religion; right to respect of private life, in particular, inviolability of the home and secrecy of communications 8th Lesson: Freedom of assembly and of association. Right to participate. 9th Lesson: Access to jurisdiction and due process. 10th Lesson.- Sindical and strike rights. Economic rights and principles of chapter III, I Title of EC.

Learning activities and methodology

The program of this course will be developed in lectures and they will be held in large group sessions. Periodical controls about the subject matter developed in the semester will also be carried out.

Assessment System

% end-of-term-examination 60
% of continuous assessment (assigments, laboratory, practicals...) 40

In order to assess students' knowledge it will be taken into account:
a) The works and activities developed in class during the semester (40% of the total final mark) 
b) A supplementary examination or final exam that will take place at the end of the semester (60% of the final mark).
Eventually, the continuous assessment could be enough in order to complete the final mark.
In addition, the teacher will take into account the participation and attitude of the students in class to set the final grade (always with a positive character).
