Objectives
The objective of this course is to introduce students to the fundamentals of computer operation, as well as basic programming techniques with applications to economic problems. During the course, students will acquire knowledge of: - Fundamentals of computer operation - Fundamentals of imperative and structured programming - Data structures - Programming in the R language - Program testing and debugging

1. How a computer works. The Von Neumann machine. 2. Fundamentals of programming in the R language. 3. Data structures. 4. Using functions and scripts. 5. Flow control: conditionals and loops. 6. Debugging. 5. Data visualisation. 7. Extensions.
