Objectives

The goal of this subject is that students can solve the main juridical problems which take places in private international law cases. Thus, students at the end of the semester will be able to: - know the basic institutions on International Family Law and International Contracts, in the field of Private International Law. - know the rules of jurisdiction, of applicable law and of recognition and enforcement of foreign judgments on this matters -know to solve practical cases about these items

Learning activities and methodology

The master classes will be taught in large groups and practical sessions in small groups. Lectures will allow the acquisition of skills necessary to understand the subject and to continue the practical classes. The teaching methodology of practical classes is based on case study, problems of interpretation of rules, tutorials for global use, participation in discussion forums, partial discharge of checks and regular tutorials throughout the course. Attached is the course schedule detailing the teaching methodology will be applied.

Assessment System

% end-of-term-examination 60
% of continuous assessment (assigments, laboratory, practicals...) 40

1. Ordinary call.
Continuous assessment.
- Partial controls: 2 partial controls. The students that pass both of them, do not have to do the final exam. In this case,
the first partial control is 60% of the final grade and the second partial control is 40% of the final grade. The students
that fail some partial control have to do the final exam. 
- Final exam is 60% of the final grade for students that have failed some partial control.
- The students will have to doing the practical cases for passing the continuous assessment
IMPORTANT: The students who pass the continuous assessment (two partial controls), will not be able to take the final exam
2. Extraordinary call.
A) If the student followed the continuous assessment process, will remain the rating system of the ordinary call and the
profesor will give the most favorable assessment, the note with the 40% of exam or the note with the 100% of exam
B) If the student did not follow the continuous assessment process, the student can perform an exam with a value of
100% of the final grade
