Objectives
-To know how to analyze, elaborate and defend individually a problem of interdisciplinary field by applying the knowledge, skills, tools and strategies acquired. -Ability to establish good interpersonal communication and to work in multidisciplinary and international teams. -Be able to engage in lifelong autonomous learning, enabling them to adapt to new situations -Acquire the knowledge, techniques and terminology specific to the field of economics, politics and international relations. -To know basic humanistic contents, oral and written expression, following ethical principles and completing a multidisciplinary training profile -Acquire knowledge of the economic, legal, political and social reality from a comparative perspective -To know and understand the main models of political, economic and social organization of States and the processes of change in contemporary societies and politics -To understand the differentiating elements of international problems according to the degree of development of a country -Ability to gather and interpret relevant data and knowledge for the elaboration and defense of arguments on topics in their area of study. -Ability to discern which quantitative or qualitative research technique is the appropriate one to apply depending on the phenomenon being analyzed. -Critically relate current and past events and processes -Plan and organize team work making the right decisions based on available information and gathering data in digital environments -Apply knowledge to identify with rigor, precision and scientific objectivity the social processes and possible solutions -Be able to apply the scientific method to the social, political and economic questions posed by the globalized society. -Knowing how to propose and use the appropriate tools to solve basic problems of economic, social and political content, especially in the international context

1. The multifaceted challenges of sustainable development. Fundamental concepts. 2. Intertwined dimensions of sustainability 3. How did we get here? 4. Sustainable development goals and strategies. Institutional architecture of sustainability 5. How to measure sustainability? 6. International actors in sustainable development 8. The legal framework for sustainability 9. Measuring progress in the sustainability process in different dimensions. 10. Behavioural change in the context of the climate crisis: is it possible? 11. Who pays for the cost of transitions (current and future)? 12. Rural and urban sustainability 13. The counterpoint: denialists, sceptics and opponents of sustainability policies and programmes 14. The Future of Sustainable Development
Learning activities and methodology
Master Classes: Master classes discuss theories and empirical evidence to test those theories. Small-group classes/ seminars: These classes introduce various group and individual activities such as assignments, presentations, debates, and role-playing exercises. Students must participate in these sessions. Teaching Methodologies This course consists of lectures and seminars in which students will complete a series of activities. The classes are designed to promote active participation and critical elaboration. Tutoring Schedule The tutoring schedules, which will take place each week during the semester, will be announced at the beginning of the semester. Students may also send questions to the professor by email.
