Objectives

Learning outcomes The student will be able to: - Recognize the documentary modes that are developing online - Identify the main traits of transmedia documentary storytelling - Understand the changes driven by the Internet in funding, distribution and consumption. - Analyze critically transmedia narratives.

Description of contents: programme

1. Documentary & Digital: A story with a past 2. Webdocumentary / Interactive documentary 3. Interactive Documentary Modes 4. Storytelling and discursive construction in webdocs. 5. Outsourcing content: crowdsourcing & webdocumentary 6. New ways of funding, distributing and consuming documentary online. All the themes of the course will be illustrated through case studies. It will be analyzed : - Current trends of documentary story - New documentary formats ( webdocumentary) - Genres Hybridization - Transmedia Documentary

Learning activities and methodology

LEARNING ACTIVITIES - Lectures - Practical courses - Team work - Individual work - Seminars and workshops (invited faculty / professionals) METHODOLOGY - Lectures - Analysis and discussion of papers / transmedia projects. - Presentation and discussion of individual and group projects developed by the students.

Assessment System

The final work will consist of a webdoc project that will be developed with the partial exercises that the professors will be requesting. 
The objective of the practicals is to explore tools that give a new dimension to the linear documentary project and to learn to provide an interactive view to linear stories.
