1. Acquaint with contemporary creation in the fields of visual arts and architecture. 2. Analysis of the artistic image from its components and in relation to the artistic movements to which it belongs. 3. Stimulation of the sensitivity and analytical skills to contemporary art. 4. Development of critical judgment and interpretation of art and architecture in its historical, social, cultural and ideological as core values ¿¿in the studies of Humanities.
Description of contents: programme
The core of the course is dedicated to art and architecture from 1945 to present, but will include a brief introduction devoted to the avant-garde in order to establish basic concepts of twentieth century art. PART 1: ARCHITECTURE 1. - Introduction: The quest for modernity in contemporary architecture after the passing of artistic styles. 2. - Western Architecture from the transformation of mid-nineteenth century until the First World War. 3. - The trends of architecture in interwar Europe. . 4 - The architecture after Nagasaki and Hiroshima (1945-1965). 5. - The postmodern condition (1965-1977). 6. - The era of the dispersion (1977-1999). A. - Revolutionary Origins of Modern Art. The historical avant-garde. 2. - The American neovanguardias after World War II. 3. - The dematerialization of the artwork. Criticism of the system. 4. - Arts and new technologies. New modes of expression, dissemination and sharing. 5. - Postmodernism. The return of the painting to the options involved.
