Objectives
- Ability to understand the main issues involved in the struggle for equal rights for people with disabilities (removal of barriers, prejudices and stereotypes). - Positive perception and receptive attitude to the rights of persons with disabilities. - Understanding the importance of their rol as professionals and citizens in the struggle for equality for people with disabilities - Ability to understand the implications of the paradigm shift in the treatment of disability from the welfare perspective to the perspective of human rights. - Understanding the situation of the rights of persons with disabilities in the Internacional Law on Human Rights and in the spanisg legal sytem. - Analytical and critical capacity .

SECTION I. GENERAL ASPECTS. 1. Disability in the discourse of human rights. 2. Models of treatment of disability and human rights 3. Disability in the International Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities. SECTION II. THE RIGHTS OF PERSONS WITH DISABILITIES I 1. Equality, non-discrimination and disability. 2. Universal accessibility and reasonable accommodation. 3- Autonomy, independent living and social participation. SECTION II. THE RIGHTS OF PERSONS WITH DISABILITIES II 1. The right of persons with disabilities to take their own decisions. Legal capacity issues. 2. Inclusive education. 3. Inclusive work
Learning activities and methodology
There will be three synchronous sessions at the begining, at the middle and at the end of the course. During these sessions the most relevant aspects of the topics will be explained and there will be general discussions The rest of the sessions will be in asynchronous way. All the teaching materiales will be available at Aula Global (lectures, class notes, news, videos). Forums for discussion on the topics of the course will be opened. The tutorial sessions will be held on line. Forums to resolve doubts about each sections of the program will be available.
