The competencies are related to the student's ability to construct, from its own investigation into the research agenda in the field of communication, the map of the current state of the art and future challenges. The learning outcomes are related to the ability to assess and formalize the current state of research in communication being able to define the existing research lines and indicating new to come.
Description of contents: programme
Theme 1: Investigating communication, researching media, research from communication. Tema2: Researching the research: theoretical and methodological formalization of the research trajectory in communication. Theme 3: The research agenda in the field of communication. Major milestones of empirical research, notable absences and future scenarios. Item 4: University´s mission Item 5: The agenda reconstructed a history: an antecedent of research in the future?
Learning activities and methodology
This course will be addressed through the reading, analysis and discussion of theoretical texts, research articles, etc., while promote research by students on the communication research agenda. It is about knowing and maping the drift of the communicational research in our context. It is expected that this form of work will the students to frame their own work within a context, a history, trends, etc. The class will be held by the seminar and workshop methodology (texts, discussion debate, etc). Student´s commitment in weekly readings and class participation is a key to this subject.
