Objectives
- Knowledge of main sociological theories. Basic skills for sociological empirical analysis. - Critical thinking.
Description of contents: programme
1. The sociological perspective; Macro-sociology and micro-sociology; Sociological research. 2. Society and culture; groups and organizations. 3. Inequality: class, gender, race, and age. 4. The state; deviation and social control. 5. Families; Education; Religion. 6.Demography; The environment.
Learning activities and methodology
- Lectures (2 ECTS credits). Students will have enough time to ask questions. - Exercises made and corrected in the classroom (2 ECTS credits). - Mandatory and voluntary readings made by students (2 ECTS credits).
