Only studens registered for all the pending subjects of their degree will be able to register in the Bachelor Degree thesis.
The Bachelor Degree Thesis will provide the student with: - S/He will put into practice the theoretical, methodological and technical knowledge, as well as the instrumental skills acquired during their degree studies - S/He will be able to clearly state targets and hypotheses and consistenly structure a research piece of work - S/He will display ability to only use sources and resources recognized by the scientific community and quote them rigorously - S/He will acquire practical experience in the use of research methods - S/He will transmit clearly relevant findings - S/He will be able to explain orally the reasons for the choice of a particular research topic, the structure of the research, the use of soruces, the relevant findings and the main conclusions.
Description of contents: programme
The Bachelor Degree Thesis aims to give students the opportunity to show the scientific and methodological level they have reached in their studies by conducting work on a specific topic. The Bachelor Degree Thesis is conceived from a flexible approach: - Critical analysis of existing scientific studies - Critical comparison of sociological theories - Critical review of interpretations of a given topic - Analysis of previously conducted fieldwork - Test of application of sociological theories to a case study - Any other consistent and well founded approach
Learning activities and methodology
The Bachelor Degree Thesis can be done following two different ways: - General: The general modality of the Bachelor Degree Thesis on Sociology is based on the idea that students work on the subject they prefer, always directed and supervised by their tutors. The general modality includes: · 2 hours of collective tutorial · 2 hours of individual tutorial - Specific: modality in which a student works under the direction of a teacher (not previously appointed as a tutor) who must accept this rol. The student will receive at least 4 hours of orientation. In both cases students are expected to work 150 hours
Assessment System
- QUALITY OF THE WRITTEN DOCUMENT: 2.5/10 - ORAL PRESENTATION: 2.5/10 - RESEARCH CAPACITY: 5/10 The University uses the Turnitin Feedback Studio program within the Aula Global for the delivery of student work. This program compares the originality of the work delivered by each student with millions of electronic resources and detects those parts of the text that are copied and pasted. If the student has correctly made the appointment and the bibliographic reference of the documents he uses as a source, Turnitin will not mark it as plagiarism.
