Objectives
This course explains students how academic research is carried out. The course will analyse all the aspects and steps required , from choosing a topic to focusing in a question, making hypotheses, theoretical frameworks, obtaining data, choosing methods and presenting the results.

First part - Basic concepts or a research project. - Choosing a topic and making a question. - Establishing a theoretical framework and hypothesis. - Data and sources. - Methods to gather and analyse data. - Presentation of results. Second part - Presentation of fact-checks - Workshops presenting research projects
Learning activities and methodology
The course will be based in a first part including mainly theoretical lectures and a second part including workshops where the students will work with the concepts learnt. This second part will occupy most of the times, as this course is mainly a workshop to understand, learn and apply how academic research works.
