Objectives
1) The ability to recognize the importance of mediascape in the global world: from social media to cinema through institutions, media facilities and agents. 2) To recognize the historical flow behind the contemporary mediascape. 3) To understand and use the most important theories of visual media and moving image analyses methods. 4) To develop a media critical thinking: ability to work with specialized bibliography and the main strategies of essay writing. These objectives reflect the following contents: Introduction to Communication, Media Theory and Visual Studies Introduction to Film Studies. Film characteristics, production process and aesthetics of film Introduction to Radio: Sound, Narration and Society. Introduction to Television Studies. Creation, audiences, reception and programming strategies. Introduction to New Media and Digital Culture.

1- Media Studies: Past and Present (Robots, Training) 2- Media Culture, Media in Culture 3- The Contemporary Audiovisual Arena (Industry, Legal Framework, Numbers) 4- Technology, Form, and Representation 5- Canon, Reception, and Heritage
Learning activities and methodology
AF 1: MASTER CLASS Theoretical sessions where the teacher presents specific content that can be supported by the use of technological resources for the presentation. AF 2: SEMINARS-WORKSHOPS Practical activities (guided problems, tutorials, debates, viewing and analysis of multimedia content, development of projects and/or group work) in small groups. Knowledge is built through the interaction and work of students guided by the faculty. AF 8: INDIVIDUAL WORK Students work individually on the content of the subject or course; writing reports, papers, or projects; readings; essays; portfolios; forums and chats. This is usually applied to the acquisition of specific knowledge, which is usually theoretical, although it can also be practical.
