Preparation for treatment under the various journalistic genres, those topics of general public interest and relevance whose central axis are forms of violence and conflicts of a structural nature (terrorism, armed conflicts, racial conflicts, violence, social violence ...) in a given social context. Training for the analysis of conflict situations. Recognize the differences between explaining, interpreting and giving opinions to beyond the fact of which are reported to be situated within the context in which their meanings are recognized. The meaning is the big difference between appearance and reality, between the news story and the framework in which the story makes sense. Learn to develop their own stories of committed journalism not only the veracity of the facts about which reports, but with the search of the web of meanings that often hinder access to the source, the core, the essence that gives sense of the fact; origin without which its effects are blurred, diluted as mere noise and spread information without interruption.

Learning activities and methodology
The course is based on continuous assessment. Students will be evaluated through practical exercises and weekly analysis and development of journalistic messages and reporting on violence. Assessment will focus on: - Practical exercises and weekly work (60%) Research on media coverage of particular cases covered by media on the subject of study and the students´development of journalistic messages within the covered fields. A minimum of 80% of the practical exercises will be required. Exercises submitted after the deadline will not be taken into account, unless properly justified. - Final exam (40%) The test will consist of an analysis of the coverage of violence within the fields seen in class.
