Objectives
Students should acquire a reasonable level of knowledge regarding: a) the general outlook of the Spanish fundamental rights and public liberties, and its guarantee system b) some particular rights and liberties
Description of contents: programme
GENERAL CONCEPTS AND GUARANTEES SYSTEM 1st Lesson: Fundamental Rights in the Spanish Constitution 2nd Lesson: Guarantees system FUNDAMENTAL RIGHTS ANALYSIS 3rd Lesson: Equality and non discrimination 4th Lesson: Right to life and integrity; right to liberty and security; freedom of movement and of residence 5th Lesson: Rights of the personal sphere: freedom of thought, conscience and religion; right to respect of private life and habeas data 6th Lesson: Freedom of expression and information 7th Lesson: Freedom of assembly and of association 8th Lesson: Political rights 9th Lesson: Right to a fair trail 10th Lesson: Economic and social rights
Learning activities and methodology
The program of this course will be developed in lectures and they will be held in large group sessions. Other types of activities will be carried out in small groups. Activities like the resolution of cases studies, based mostly in the Spanish Constitutional Court'cases or the European Human Rights Court' cases, exhibitions of the students, discussions of the work documents... Periodical controls about the subject matter developed in the semester will also be carried out. The aim of this combination of work´s methods is the develope of the capacities and the competences identified between the Bachelor's degree characteristics.
