Learning Outcomes
K3: Knowledge of the basics of journalistic information, the configuration of the media system, and society¿s participative/communicational model in the access to journalistic information. K4: Know and use technological and communicational resources to produce, disseminate journalistic information and manage digital communities. K5: Know the processes of documentation, access to data and sources, including big data and artificial intelligence. S8: Apply the fundamental principles of the various branches of specialized journalism, efficiently managing documentation processes and specific source systems to develop accurate and rigorous information. S9: Compose and ability to apply the informative component to graphic design and acquisition of infographic competencies, as well as basic IT knowledge for use in different techniques applied to journalism and to digital image treatment. S11: Demonstrates oratory and speaking skills in media adapted to the informative purpose. Particularly in audio, video and transmedia processes. C2: To be able, through arguments or procedures developed and supported by themselves, to apply their knowledge, understanding of it and their problem-solving skills in complex journalistic or specialized professional fields that require the use of creative and innovative ideas C3: Ability to use both advanced theoretical and practical knowledge and demonstrated an understanding of the theoretical and practical aspects and working methodology of journalistic science with a depth that reaches the cutting edge of knowledge. Description of contents: programme
The course offers an introduction to podcasting and other sound formats, exploring the digital audio ecosystem, its definition, characteristics and types, with a focus on non-fiction podcasts. Current trends are analyzed and production is deepened, including ideation, development, scriptwriting, and sound design. Narrative strategies for different sound formats are also studied, as well as techniques for distributing, monetizing and promoting podcasts, including distribution platforms, metrics analysis and design of promotional material.
