Learning Outcomes
K1: To know the principles and values of democracy and sustainable development, in particular, respect for human rights and fundamental rights, gender equality and non-discrimination, the principles of universal accessibility and climate change. K3: Knowledge of the basics of journalistic information, the configuration of the media system, and society¿s participative/communicational model in the access to journalistic information. K5: Know the processes of documentation, access to data and sources, including big data and artificial intelligence. S5: Elaborates journalistic information in different media (press, radio, TV, Internet, communication centers), always based on polyvalent learning that enables the student to adapt to the multimedia journalistic requirements and control of technological-informative specifications to the different types of media. Description of contents: programme
The subject analyzes the media system, addressing key concepts such as pluralism, diversity and media concentration, as well as digitalization and globalization. Cultural industries, including film, television and print, and their transition to the digital environment are examined. The television market, the duopoly of Atresmedia and Mediaset, and the rise of VoD are also studied. The second part looks at the responses of global content companies, the European media system, and the influence of tech giants such as GAMAM and BAXT on content creation and distribution. Case studies are included to illustrate these themes.
