1. Knowledge of filmic practices outside the dominant industrial model of narrative cinema. 2. Ability to recognize, interpret and analyze the filmic practices of non fiction and experimental cinema, as well as the new audiovisual practices.

1: INTRODUCTION. NON-NARRATIVE CINEMA AND OTHER ARTISTIC DISCIPLINES 2: RHYTHM AND SOUND IN EXPERIMENTAL ANIMATION 3: PERSONAL CINEMA: FILM POETRY AND FILM DIARIES 4: EXPERIMENTAL ETHNOGRAPHY 5: DANCE AND PERFORMANCE 6: CINEMA EXPANDS: FROM LETTRISM TO EXPANDED CINEMA 7: COLLAGE, FOUND FOOTAGE, REMIX AND SAMPLING
Learning activities and methodology
1. Magisterial classes Theoretical classes about the nature and evolution of non narrative cinema (currents, styles, main figures). Competences 1 and 2 (0,5 ECTS). 2. Practical classes Interpretation and close readings of touchstone films which are representative of the concepts displayed in the program. Active participation of the student in the commentary of the audiovisual pieces. Competence 2 (1 ECTS). 3. Student work Guided study of the theoretial-practical matters and didactic materials. Competences 1 and 2 (0,5 ECTS). Preparation of practical classes, delivery of a research essay on a concrete matter of the syllabus. Competence 2 (1 ECTS).
