- Criticism cinema - European cinema
1. Knowledge of contemporary author cinema, from 90's till nowadays 2. Ability to understand and analyse from a critical point of view the contemporary films production from a social, cultural and aesthetic perspective 3.Learning about theoretical and methodological foundations in order to analyze the cinema as a social representation and the production of meanings in the author cinema 4. Ability to distinguish and analyse from a critical point of view the mutations that happen in the contemporary cinema in its social context and its cultural dimension
Description of contents: programme
The cinema is a dynamic representation of society in his social and imaginary dimension It informs us of collectives representations of reality, identity and its mutations Introduction. Cinema, identity's representation, and social imaginary Economic crise and critic of american dream Minimal body, survival, passive resistance Generacional crise: thirty crise, "neo-exitencialism" Sexe as "terra incognito": glorious body and "horror corporis" Loves and liquid relations Identity and genders plays
Learning activities and methodology
1. Master class Presentation of original interpretations, theoretical and practical, to analyse the relation between cinema and society. Social, cultural, aesthetic aspects. Abilities 1 and 2 (0,75 ECTS). 2. Practice lessons Deeply interpretation and analysis about representative examples about the topics contained in the program Practice lessons preparation using the movies contained in the program and research work about concrete aspects of the program Student's active comments about the films during the lesson Abilities 3 and 4 (0,75 ECTS). 3. Student's work: the student have to propose a topic with 3 or 4 movies allowed by teacher to check the student's achievement It should be written down.
