The Professional Internship course of the Degree in Sociology can follow one of the two alternative procedures described below: - Ordinary procedure: The practices take place during the second semester of the fourth year of the degree, normally during 8-10 weeks and in most cases in the months of February -late- to May (depending on companie/entities' requirements). - Extraordinary procedure: designed to carry out the Professional Internship in companies or entities that the student looks for on his/her own The Professional Internship methodology is different from other academic subjects. Each company or institution receives one or more students and sets a tutor who becomes responsible for coordinating the tasks performed by the students during their stay. The learning process is based on participation in daily activities of the company or institution in the field of social research. In addition to the tutor of the institution, there will be a lecturer responsible for the Practicum. Both tutors will be in touch over the period of the internship.

The mark will take into account the level of contribution of the aforementioned aspects, as well as the writing and presentation of the report and the analytical capacity of the student. - 40%: Report of the company on their perception about student's work.
