Comptetences and skills to pose and develop an applied research in different areas of society. In depth knowledege of social sciences methodology and specifically of advanced qualitative research methods. Comptetence to choose quantitative or qualitative research methods according to the social phenomena to analyse. Students will learn to use observational methods in its different ways, in depth surveys, life histories and focus groups. They will become acquainted with specific software for qualitative data analysis like QSR.

Learning activities and methodology
Weekly lectures according to syllabus and weekly different types of practical exercises: individual and in groups, written and oral or both, based on thinking and reading as well as in the observation and analysis of data. Students will work transversal competences as well as analitical, organizational and planning capacities. They will also develop their skills in information management and team work. Collective tutorials will be offered for the supervision of observation practical exercises done in groups along several weeks.
