Objectives
1. Understand the historical meaning and social context of the equality and diversity movements. 2. Understand and identify different theoretical approaches to the concepts and ideas surrounding equality and diversity. 3. Understand the introduction and development of equality and diversity practices in the field and labor market. 4. Understand the introduction and development of equality and diversity practices in the institutional setting and in diverse organizations. 5. To know the meaning, dynamics and basic contents of an equality and diversity plan. 6. To know and develop tools to detect barriers to equality and diversity in companies and institutions. 7. To understand the connections between equality and diversity objectives and policies and other organizational objectives in companies and institutions.
Description of contents: programme
1. Equality and diversity: theoretical, normative, social and political debates. 2. Social, political, economic and cultural barriers to equality and diversity in society and in organizations. 3. From equality to diversity: continuities, discontinuities and application of paradigms to the socio-labor field. 4. Elaboration of equality plans: basic mandatory contents and particular applications. 5. Case studies in companies and institutions in Spain and internationally. 6. The promotion of equality and diversity in companies and institutions: detection and analysis of good practices.
