Objectives
The aim of the course is to familiarize students with the basic tools of economic analysis that are used to investigate the functioning of the labour market. In light of these results, the effects of public policies implemented to improve efficiency and reduce labor market inequality are analyzed. To this end, emphasis is placed on the regulation of labour relations and how they influence and are affected by other areas of economic activity. Particular emphasis is placed on the use of labour market statistics. The student must be able to access the statistical information available on the labour market through various sources, both surveys and administrative sources. Likewise, they must be able to write an essay on a topic of their choice.

Mobility and migration. Topic 8. Discrimination in the labour market. Topic 9. Employment and unemployment.
Learning activities and methodology
The study structure of each topic will be common: Master classes, where the theoretical and empirical study of the topics will be proposed with a micro and/or macroeconomic approach applied to labor economics. Practical classes, where exercises and problems will be proposed and solved. A presentation (in a group of students) on a topic covered throughout the course will be proposed. The evaluation in class will also be through partial tests/exams throughout the course.
