Objectives
1The general objectives of the course Law of Information Technologies are to enable students of the Bachelor's Degree in Law to complement their academic training by acquiring the essential foundational knowledge in the field of Digital Law. This knowledge will equip them to begin their professional careers under the best possible conditions. To this end, the course aims to ensure that students: Gain a basic understanding of the impact of technology on specific areas of law. Understand and analyze existing legislation in various fields influenced by technology, including its evolution and future outlook. Work with the administrative bodies responsible for safeguarding recognized and protected rights. Be able to search for relevant legal norms, rulings, and case law related to the topics addressed in the course. Demonstrate respect for the responsible use of technology and the rights of individuals. Develop an interest in the legal challenges posed by emerging technologies and explore possible solutions. Resolve basic legal issues arising from certain uses of technology. These areas of knowledge are considered essential for ensuring the proper development of students¿ legal education.
Learning Outcomes
K1: Know basic humanistic contents, oral and written expression, following ethical principles and completing a multidisciplinary training profile. K3: Master the fundamental concepts and principles of the different sectors of the legal system. K4: To know the importance of fundamental rights and public freedoms, as well as their scope and content. K6: To know the legal tools and instruments applicable to the interpretation and integration of the legal system, as well as to the resolution of conflicts, in the field of Public Law. K9: Know how institutions such as mediation, auditing or consulting work. K10: To know the institutional organisation of the State and the international and community organisations of which it is a part. K12: Understand the ethical dimension of law and the need to act responsibly in the defence of fundamental rights and social justice. S1: Plan and organize teamwork by making the right decisions based on available information and gathering data in digital environments. S2: Use the information by interpreting relevant data avoiding plagiarism, and in accordance with the academic and professional conventions of the area of study, being able to evaluate the reliability and quality of such information. S3: Apply the necessary skills to search for information in the different legal sources (legal, jurisprudential and doctrinal). S4: Apply organizational skills and critical management of legal knowledge. S7: Apply knowledge to identify social processes and possible solutions with rigor, precision and scientific objectivity S9: Correctly and effectively use oratory and legal argumentation. C1: Know how to analyse, elaborate and defend individually a problem in the disciplinary field of the Bachelor's Degree by applying the knowledge, skills, tools and strategies acquired or developed in it. C3: Select and interpret legal and conventional regulations, jurisprudence and judicial doctrine applicable to different legal systems.

SYLLABUS OF THE SUBJECT INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY LAW (OPTIONAL) DEGREE IN LAW Subject 1: Legal IT, IT Law and IT Security. Subject 2: Data protection in the European sphere. Subject 3: Data protection in Spain Subject 4: Administrative Transparency Theme 5: The Information Society or Social Networks. Theme 6: The electronic signature Theme 7: Electronic Administration. New ways of relating Theme 8: Penal and criminal law and information technologies.
Learning activities and methodology
The continuous assessment system is based on practice-oriented teaching that aims to reinforce the learning of theory through direct experience in cases that should facilitate the understanding and handling of its content. The academic activities are divided into Lectures (large group) and Practice Sessions (small groups). 1. Lectures (large groups), in which the general outlines of the subject matter of the corresponding subject will be presented. 2. Practical Sessions (Small Groups), in which specific activities will be carried out to provide a practical view of the content of the subjects. The activities to be developed will be specified and published in the global classroom at the beginning of the course by each teacher and will always be oriented towards the practice that aims to reinforce the learning of the theory through direct experience in cases that should facilitate the understanding and handling of the content. B) METHODOLOGY TO BE USED Class lectures by the teacher with the support of computer and audiovisual media, in which the main concepts of the subject are developed, which will serve as a conceptual and analytical basis in connection with the objectives set and with the documentation provided for the study and the bibliography is provided to complement the students' learning. Critical reading of texts recommended by the subject teacher: reports, resolutions, jurisprudence, manuals and/or academic articles, for subsequent presentation and/or discussion in class in order to broaden and consolidate knowledge of the subject. Group or individual work . The case studies presented in the theoretical-practical session may be developed by the students in groups or individually. In general, students must upload the cases they have worked on and analysed to the Global Classroom within the period indicated by the lecturer. . Students must actively participate in the theoretical-practical sessions proposed by the lecturer. C) TUTORING REGIME The tutorials will be carried out at the time and under the conditions determined by the teacher in Aula Global. Presentation and discussion in class, under the moderation of the teacher, of topics related to the content of the subject, as well as proposed practical cases Group or individual work . The case studies that arise in the theoretical-practical session may be developed by the students in groups or individually. In general, students must upload the cases worked and analyzed to the Global Classroom within the period indicated by the teacher. . Students must actively participate in the theoretical-practical sessions proposed by the professor. The tutorials will be held at the time and under the conditions determined by the teacher in Aula Global. If new extraordinary measures are adopted that require distance teaching, it will continue to be taught under the same conditions initially foreseen (with the same programming, methodology, activities, etc.), although all practical sessions will be taught online. Indications on the use of Artificial Intelligence tools In this course, students should not use artificial intelligence tools to carry out the work or exercises proposed by the faculty. In the event that the use of AI by the student gives rise to academic fraud by falsifying the results of an exam or work required to accredit academic performance, the Regulation of the University Carlos III of Madrid of partial development of the Law 3/2022, of February 24th, of University Coexistence, will be applied.
