Objectives
The course aims to contribute to the development of the following general skills and competencies: - Capacity for analysis and synthesis. - Collaborative skills applicable to interdisciplinary project development. - Critical thinking. In addition, the course seeks to: - Provide an introductory understanding of the core approaches, issues, and methodologies of sociology, taking into account the specific characteristics of the students' academic program. - Foster the ability to relate sociological knowledge to other relevant disciplines within the broader field of the humanities and social sciences.

- Introduction to sociology - Sociability and culture - Analysis of socialization and social interaction - Social organization - Social inequality - Social change
Learning activities and methodology
The course will be structured around lecture-based sessions, which will conclude with guided debates on key issues related to each topic in the syllabus. In addition, students will be assigned practical exercises designed to develop skills relevant to the sociological analysis of significant social phenomena, processes, and issues. These exercises are also intended to facilitate the integration of the course's content and perspectives with other subjects within the students¿ broader academic program. In accordance with university regulations, the use of mobile phones is not permitted during class sessions. Similarly, all electronic devices, including laptops, must remain turned off unless the instructor explicitly authorizes their use for specific academic purposes.
