A) The student will develop an analytical and critical way of thinking towards sociology, in order to get used to formulate debates in relation to the different social context and from a scientific perspective
B) The student will develop research abilities through the essays that have to be done during the course, using primary and secondary sources and different tools available at University.
C) The student will be encouraged to develop oral expression and abilities for debates, focusing on information from an empirical analysis of the social reality.
D) The student will learn to identify the relations between social institutions and social systems.
E) The student will learn to observe everyday social processes through different ways, like movies, readings or observation, in order to understand the hidden characteristics of the phenomena.
F) The student will learn to work with different methodologies, carrying out individual and group activities, as well as essays done in the class or at home, that will have to be presented both in a written and oral way.
