The Bachelor Thesis is the realization of a work in which the student applies the techniques and skills acquired during the Degree either through a specific problem proposed by the supervisor of the Bachelor Thesis or through a problem/project proposed by a Company with which an agreement is signed in advance. Also, the adequacy of the Company¿s project to the objectives of the Degree should be evaluated.
The student can choose one of the following modalities:
a) SPECIFIC Bachelor Thesis: It is a work on a specific subject to be carried out by a single student under the supervision of a University Professor. During the first semester, generally around November-December, the students of the last year will express their preferences among the offers published by professors on an electronic board. Each professor who has published the Bachelor Thesis offer will assign the project to one of the students who has expressed an interest in doing so. Those offers that remain as not assigned will be assigned using the average Degree and the student's academic record as criteria.
In order to carry out a specific Bachelor Thesis, the students who wish, can also contact to a professor to act as supervisor beforehand. In this case, they must present the specific Bachelor Thesis request at the Student Office, conveniently signed by the supervisor who has accepted the Bachelor Thesis supervision. The request will be forwarded to the coordinator for consideration and approval.
Students who choose the specific Bachelor Thesis option will be enrolled in the 'Specific Modality' group of their respective Degree. This group will be made up of all the students who take the Bachelor Thesis under the specific modality and will be administratively organized analogously to any other Degree subject.
b) GENERAL Bachelor Thesis: Automatically, those students who do not obtain a supervisor to carry out a specific Bachelor Thesis will be enrolled in the 'General Modality' groups, which may have a maximum size of 20 students. These groups are assigned specialized supervisors in the area of Statistics who will guide students in the choice and development of work. These groups are administratively organized analogously to any other undergraduate course (enrolment, group in global classroom, etc.).
