Objectives
This subject deals with key research problems and methodological traditions in the field of audiovisual communication. It delves into the current configuration of the research agenda in Spain, in its international context, analysing its challenges and opportunities. Its objectives are, within the framework of the specific seminar to be given: - To understand and analyse the research agenda. - To become familiar with related theories and methodologies. - Reflecting on missing research topics and future trends.
Learning Outcomes
Description of contents: programme
Topic 1: Researching communication, researching the media, researching from communication. Topic 2: Researching research: the theoretical and methodological formalization of the research trajectory in communication. Topic 3: The communication research agenda. Major historical milestones of empirical research, conspicuous absences and future hypotheses. Theme 4: The University's mission. Theme 5: The reconstructed agenda: a precedent for future research? Seminar: Audiovisual on demand, research and change.
Learning activities and methodology
-Lectures accompanied by presentations and audiovisual resources. -Reading by students of references: presentation and discussion in class. -Work and oral presentation on a case of the student's choice. Debate.
