Description of contents: programme
Practical introduction and simulation of the design of experimental methods. Random selection of treatment and control groups. Application of targeting strategies. Difference between treatment-on-the-treated and intention-to-treat. Case study: relationship between education and intergenerational transmission of poverty. Progresa-Oportunidades-Prospera Program. Practical application of a pseudo-experimental method: information requirements and strategies for building a counterfactual. Relevance and limitations of natural experiments.
