Objectives

- To dominate a specific topic in the field of geopolitical and strategic analysis. - To prepare a document with a rigorous theoretical base based on the knowledge acquired in the Master. - To put into practice the knowledge about methodology and analysis techniques acquired during the Master. - To produce and / or use the most appropriate qualitative or quantitative data to address the space or geopolitical phenomenon studied. - To analyze available data with appropriate research techniques. - To write the document in a clear and rigorous manner, from the written, iconographic or visual point of view, so that the results can be communicated effectively. - To present and defend orally the results of her/his work before a committee composed of at least one professor of the Master.

Description of contents: programme

1. Selection of a space and relevant geopolitical phenomenon to analyze. 2. Link the studied subject to existing knowledge in the field of geopolitical and strategic analysis. 3. Develop a research design that allows to analyze with efficiency and rigor the topic selected. 4. Apply concepts and select and / or generate data. 5. Analyze the data to carry out the project. 6. Organize the structure of the dissertation. 7. Write the work and present the data in an effective and rigorous manner. 8. Defend publicly the thesis and answer the questions that are asked.

-The originality and relevance of the object of study, as well as the work done by the student and his contribution to the progress of knowledge of the object.
-The clarity and organization of work.
- The rigor and quality of the analysis both from the theoretical and methodological point of view and from the empirical point of view.
-The knowledge and management of the specific bibliography of the object of study, as well as other relevant sources in relation to it.
-The ability to present and defend the results of the work, both oral and written, including the correct use of the language.

These criteria may be developed in accordance with the regulations (general or specific) envisaged by the Carlos III University of Madrid for Master's Degree Projects and will be weighted quantitatively within the framework of an evaluation matrix.

The evaluation system used in this course will be based on a report from the tutor (25% of the final grade) and a presentation and public defense of the Master's Thesis that will be evaluated by a committee (75% of the final grade; according to the criteria detailed in the specific regulations of the Master's Thesis - see evaluation matrix).

The University uses the Turnitin Feedback Studio program within the Aula Global for the delivery of student work. This program compares the originality of the work delivered by each student with millions of electronic resources and detects those parts of the text that are copied and pasted. If the student has correctly made the appointment and the bibliographic reference of the documents he uses as a source, Turnitin will not mark it as plagiarism.
