Objectives
The objective of this subject is to provide all the necessary skills for the professional practice of mediation, negotiation and other forms of conflict management. It therefore requires, among other issues, a rigorous knowledge of the particularities derived from criminal mediation in a different field, the handling of the particularities of mediation in the civil field and in the commercial and business field, the mastery of the specialties of family mediation or the knowledge of the legal and ethical limits in the performance of mediation.

Description of contents: programme
This is an elective subject, whose objective is to strengthen the students' training by putting into practice the theoretical knowledge they will acquire throughout the Master's program. theoretical knowledge that they will acquire throughout the Master's program. Within the framework of this course, two types of internships will be offered: tutored internships and supervised internships. Student activity 1st modality The tutored internships will be carried out within the framework of the Intrajudicial Mediation Program of Universidad Carlos III de Madrid. The students will participate in real mediations as observers, and will analyze the observed cases with the mediator-mentors, each one responsible for guiding a group of students during the responsible for guiding a group of students during the internship period, which will be structured in three levels of difficulty (beginner, intermediate, advanced), depending on the level of difficulty, intermediate, advanced), depending on the theoretical knowledge previously acquired at each stage of the Master. Students will use analysis sheets for the breakdown of each observed session. They will hand these sheets to the corresponding tutor. 2nd modality The supervised internships will be carried out in the framework of external institutions that carry out mediation activities and which will host a certain number of students to participate as observers in mediation sessions. Depending on the field in which each collaborating institution is involved, students may also study mediation case files and analyze them. In this modality, students will be able to choose the entity in which to carry out the internship, linking it to the specialty of professional interest that each person has. The student who chooses this type of internship must justify the suitability of the entity for the internship both in relation to the tasks assigned and the hours to be completed (70% of which must be face-to-face).

Assessment System
1st modality The tutor will make a quarterly report on each student, evaluating his/her performance during the internship, on the basis of the analyses made on the worksheets and of the interventions during the debates organized after each observed session. The aim is to verify through practice the adequate assimilation of the theoretical contents of the Master. Each student must write a brief report or final exercise of their internship experience, following the guidelines provided by the coordination of the course. - Evaluation of practical skills: 30%. - Final exam: 70% (RECORDING) 2nd modality The person in charge of supervising the external internship in each collaborating institution will deliver a global report regarding each student, evaluating his/her performance during the internship based on the activities carried out. Each student must write a brief report or final exercise of his/her internship experience, following the guidelines provided by the subject coordination.
