Description of contents: programme

This subject aims to analyze the liability due to new types of torts that are not regulated in the Civil Code or whose regulation is not adapted to the current needs: damage caused by profesional activities (doctors, lawyers, auditors); environmental damage, damage caused by defective products, and other kind of damage that raise problems that have been solved by the Supreme Court rather than by the legislator.

Calendar of Continuous assessment

The evaluation of the practical part (50 % of the final mark) will be based on the making of the practical exercises required. Participation in classes will also be taken into account. 
In the event that complementary Seminars take place during the second semester, attendance at them will also be taken into account.

With regard to the theoretical part, the student shall have to take a multiple-choice exam (50  % of the final mark)

In this course, students should not use artificial intelligence tools to carry out the work or exercises proposed by the faculty. In the event that the use of AI by the student gives rise to academic fraud by falsifying the results of an exam or work required to accredit academic performance, the Regulation of the University Carlos III of Madrid of partial development of the Law 3/2022, of February 24th, of University Coexistence, will be applied.
