Objectives
1. To acquire a rational and critical knowledge of the theories on the different aspects of the Cultural Inheritance of Spain, and the countries of America with a great Spanish inheritance. 2. To get a rational and critical knowledge of the methods of work related to the Cultural Heritage. 3. To reach the level of competition that allows to analyze the own phenomena of the inheritance. 4. To obtain a capacity of historical analysis of the cultural facts. 5. To possess advanced knowledge of the terminology, the criteria and the foundations that govern the consideration of the Cultural Heritage. 6. To analyze in detail the research methods of the complexity of issues of cultural heritage 7. To practice research methods through brief papers and long final paper
Skills and learning outcomes
Description of contents: programme
The ways of approaching theory and method in relation to cultural heritage will be studied; focusing on the Hispanic cultural heritage (Spain, Latin America and other territories with Spanish cultural influence) and paying attention to new methods of analysis of the past, such as digital humanities, mainly in the following areas of knowledge: 1. The understanding of the past as the basis of cultural heritage. The study of the cultural heritage of the Ancient Age. 2. The understanding of the past as the basis of cultural heritage. The study of the cultural heritage of the Middle Ages. 3. The understanding of the past as the basis of cultural heritage. The study of the cultural heritage of the Modern Age. 4. Understanding the past as the basis of cultural heritage. The study of the cultural heritage of the Contemporary Age. 5. The study of the cultural heritage of Art and Aesthetics. 6. The study of the cultural heritage of Geography. In compliance with the provisions of RD.822/2021, the contents of this subject will address gender equality, equal treatment and non-discrimination, inclusive and non-exclusive language, as well as the treatment of other cultures and ethnicities with respect for human rights and fundamental rights.
Learning activities and methodology
1. Magisterial conferences, where they will present the knowledge that the pupils must acquire. There will be delivered to the pupils basic texts of reference that allow them to understand and to penetrate into the contents of the given matter. 2. Practical classes, at which one will be employed with specific documentation that allows a more precise approximation to the students the contents of the matter. 3. Groups of discussion, on concrete problems to fix in the pupils the specific capacities that must be acquired in the course, promoting the critical analysis and the examination of the sources. 4. Exhibitions, where they present the results and worn out materials, with the aim to favor the learning and the acquisition of competitions in the domain of the presentation and public diffusion of the realized works.
