1st Session: Presentation of the subject.
2nd Session: The Spanish judicial system and the instruments for the protection of fundamental rights provided in relation to the Spanish Constitution, the ECHR, and the EU Charter of Fundamental Rights.
3rd Session: Present, future prospects, and main trends in the multi-level system for the protection of fundamental rights.
SUBSTANTIVE BLOCK (9 sessions):
4th Session: The protection of the right to life and integrity: Positive obligations of the State (Articles 15 of the Spanish Constitution and 3 of the ECHR).
5th Session: Review of the actions of the UN Committee on Enforced Disappearances.
6th Session: Instrumental guarantees of the right to liberty and security (Art. 17 CE and 5 ECHR)
7th Session: The alleged bodily indemnity: from the protection of territorial privacy to the protection of informational privacy (Arts. 18 CE and 8 ECHR).
8th Session: Content and limits of the right to freedom of expression: the nonexistent right to insult (Arts. 20 CE and 10 ECHR).
9th and 10th Session: Crime prevention and anticipation as purposes of the process and punishment in contemporary criminal law (Arts. 25 CE and 8 ECHR).
PROCEDURAL BLOCK (6 sessions):
11th and 12th Session: The presumption of innocence and its consequences for the evidentiary system: In dubio pro reo and reasoning behind the judgment.
13th and 14th Sessions: The unconstitutionality of illicit evidence: from the constitutionalization of the exclusionary rule to the modulation of the derived effect (Art. 11.1 LOPJ).
15th Session: Regulation and treatment of the right of defense today: two opposing logics.
16th Session: Transparency and secrecy in the constitutional model of publicity of justice (Arts. 20 and 24 CE and 10 ECHR).
