Students will benefit from having at least a very basic knowledge of contemporary art. All students should have a good command of the language (Spanish or English).
Objectives
1. Acquaint with contemporary creation in the fields of visual arts and architecture. 2. Analysis of the artistic image from its components and in relation to the artistic movements to which it belongs. 3. Stimulation of the sensitivity and analytical skills to contemporary art. 4. Development of critical judgment and interpretation of art and architecture in its historical, social, cultural and ideological as core values ¿¿in the studies of Humanities.
Skills and learning outcomes
Description of contents: programme
The core of the course is dedicated to art and architecture from 1945 to present, but will include a brief introduction devoted to the avant-garde in order to establish basic concepts of twentieth century art. 1. The Revolutionary Origins of Modern Art: historical avant-garde movements and modern architecture. 2. Art and architecture after World War II. 3. The dematerialization of the artwork. Questioning the artworld. 4. Art, architecture and technology. 5. Art and architecture in the Postmodern era.
