IT IS ESSENTIAL TO BE FLUENT IN SPOKEN AND WRITTEN SPANISH. NON SPANISH SPEAKING STUDENTS MUST BE IN POSSESSION OF A C1 CERTIFICATE FROM THE CERVANTES INSTITUTE. BASIC LITERARY AND HUMANISTIC TRAINING LITERARY MOVEMENTS, THEORY OF LITERATURE, COMPARATIVE LITERATURE, ETC.
Objectives
The students will learn how to: -Understand the frequent topics of the contemporary literature -Know of the primary trends of the contemporary literature -Analyze a contemporary text -Relate a contemporary text with another piece of art

Description of contents: programme
The course has 3 generic axes Unit 1. Crisis of the subject at the begining of the XX century (Schnitzler, Kafka, Joyce, Svevo, Woolf, Unamuno, ...) Unit 2. Social and political compromise. Literature in the middel century XX (Queneau, Perec, Brecht, Calvino, etc.) Unit 3. New literary tendences (End XX-XXI): Coetzee, Ishiguro, Oé, Banville, Gopegui, Liddell, etc.
