Objectives
SKILLS Understanding the relationship between journalism and documentary, developing new ideas and improving the originality Students should be able to integrate knowledge, handle complexity, and formulate judgments based on information that was incomplete or limited, include reflecting on social and ethical responsibilities Develop critical and analytical skills through the analysis of the image and visual narrative. Acquire theoretical knowledge on visual story and become aware of their impact and social influence. Knowing the basics of ethical journalism in a digital and interactive context. Acquire theoretical and historical knowledge of the documentary / reportage. Acquire analytical knowledge to address the documentary narrative from a critical perspective Analyze the relationship between the documentary and the journalistic practice. SPECIFIC SKILLS Understand the links of documentary with the journalism practice and its work dynamics. Master the research and documentation's process of report/documentary Acquire journalistic skills on how to make good interviews for reports/documentaries Acquire skills to produce reports/documentaries: from designing the dossier to finance Promote the SDGs, especially those related to sustainability and climate change LEARNING OUTCOMES Knowledge of the historical development of reportage and its main features Evolution and transformation of the documentary genre in the digital context. Principles of rhetoric and persuasive strategies documentary.

1.- Understanding the nature and evolution of journalistic reporting. 2.- Theoretical knowledge of journalistic implications in the documentary. 3.- Journalistic sources 4.- Writing of journalistic reports and scripts 5.- The interview as a documentary practice 6.- Innovation and new approaches: drones and new narratives 7.- How to fund and to sell a documentary project 8.- Sustainability and climate change in the documentary story
Learning activities and methodology
LEARNING ACTIVITIES Lectures Practical classes with case studies Working groups Individual student work Analysis of journalistic reports that address the issues of sustainability and climate change. A journalistic practice will be carried out on these topics TEACHING METHODOLOGIES Lectures with teacher support and visual media, in which the main concepts of the subject are developed. On the other hand, articles and textbooks will be provided to supplement student learning. Workshops aimed to put into practice collective and individual works of the students. Critical reading of texts recommended by the professor. Reading in deep newspaper articles, reports, textbooks to expand and consolidate the knowledge of the subject. Analyzing practical cases developed by the professor Student¿s dissertation moderated by the professor about issues related to the content of the subject, as well as case studies. Writing papers and reports about some fields taught in classes Critical analysis and viewing of documentaries.
