A basic knowledge and understanding of social security law.
Objectives
- To know the elementary institutions of The Social Security System and its possible conections (each other) and with other branches of our Legal System. - To identify the potential subjects of protection by the Social Security System. - To know the social security benefits. - To value the processes of change regarding Social Security. - To develop different student abilities (expressive and systematizing)

Description of contents: programme
1.-The Spanish Social Security: Constitutional model. Sostenibility 2.-The structure of Social Security System 3.-The elementary rules of the social contribution. Contribution in the special cases. 4.-The elementary rules of social protection. 5.- Disability benefits (temporary and permanent). Control problems about the temporary incapacity. 6.-Unemployment benefits 7.- Retirement pension 8.- Social Security self employment payments
Learning activities and methodology
Regular lecturing: regular lectures will be taught, where the main concepts and elements of the program will be explained and clarified, and that the students are supposed to learn. To this end, the professor will recommend reference manuals and readings at the beginning of the term, as well as a specialised bibliography for specific subjects, together with tailored reading materials for a better comprehension of the different lectures. These working materials will help introducing the debates and the class discussions, especially those who are the most interesting both for the professor and the students. The teaching methodology will combine the theoretical and practical approach The on-site tutorships will be held at the time and place determined by the professor.
