Objectives
The course aims to provide students with tools to understand, analyze, and interpret the fundamentals of the legal framework, the regulatory, control and supervisory bodies, the service providers, and the transparency, audience measurement, and accountability of the audiovisual communication sector. The objective is for the student to acquire the necessary and up-to-date knowledge of the different items of the syllabus, always supported by the teaching of professors and professionals who are experts in the sector. The training not only covers the theoretical framework but also the practical and technical aspects necessary to understand, analyze, work on, and critically engage with the different topics addressed. From this perspective, the aim is to fulfill the following general and specific objectives: General objectives: ¿ To know, identify, understand, and use advanced knowledge about the regulation of markets in strategic sectors such as audiovisual communication, analyzing the impact of regulations on competition and on the development, sustainability, and SDG compliance of these regulated environments. ¿ To identify and analyze situations in which the fundamental rights of citizens may be particularly compromised in the audiovisual sector, paying special attention to the protection of consumers in digital environments. To adopt preventive measures and regulatory strategies to avoid possible violations of these rights. ¿ To know and apply the means of evidence and specific techniques in audiovisual matters, understanding their interrelation with other regulated sectors such as telecommunications and the digital society. To analyze the facts and the legal framework necessary to prepare claims or administrative requests, as well as to intervene in judicial proceedings and before regulatory bodies such as the CNMC, AEPD, AESIA, CNMV, and other authorities. Specific objectives: ¿ To determine and analyze the subjects involved in this field, their obligations and their impact on competition and the improvement of society. To interpret and examine the regulations and documents issued by European and national authorities, applying appropriate legal criteria for their correct understanding and use. ¿ To interpret and apply the legal, organizational, and contractual framework that regulates and conditions professional activities in the audiovisual sector. To evaluate the current regulations and their application in the different areas in which professional activity within the audiovisual industry may be developed. ¿ To draft reports, legal opinions, procedures, and administrative claims or judicial lawsuits in order to develop professional activity in law firms, companies, or public or private organizations in the various subjects studied in the master's program. ¿ To draft, structure, and write contracts, agreements, and basic documents addressed to service providers and users in this sector, ensuring their regulatory adequacy and proper application in the professional field. ¿ To draft and structure basic legal writings for the defense of the rights of users and service providers in the regulated sectors of the master¿s program against the imposition of sanctions. To identify the competent public bodies and determine the appropriate judicial or administrative route for their submission and processing. ¿ To defend the rights of audiovisual service providers before the competent public bodies and in the judicial sphere. ¿ To critically analyze legal texts for their correct interpretation and, where appropriate, application in audiovisual matters. ¿ To advise and defend the rights and obligations of audiovisual content producers and the general public.

Learning activities and methodology
Training activities * Theoretical-practical classes. * Individual or group work by the student and presentation and defense in class of assignments. * Resolution of practical cases. It is important that students actively participate in the sessions. As this is an in-person master¿s program, attendance at classes will be essential for grading the student. Attendance requirements established in the academic regulations of the Master's program and in Aula Global must be met in order to be evaluated. Teaching methodologies The methodology that will be followed in this subject is as follows: * In-class presentations by different professors using computer and audiovisual media, in which the main concepts of the subject are developed and the bibliography is provided to complement the students' learning. * Critical reading of texts recommended by the subject¿s professor to expand and consolidate knowledge of the subject or for later discussion in class. * Resolution of practical cases or preparation of reports or legal opinions, etc., proposed by the professor for individual or group resolution. * Presentation and discussion in class, moderated by the professor, of training materials related to the subject, as well as their understanding and presentation. Tutorials: Students will have access to tutorials with the person responsible for coordinating the subject. The aim of the tutorials is to organize the teaching and learning processes based on the interaction between the student and the professor with the purpose of: (i) Guiding the students¿ autonomous and group work. (ii) Deepening various aspects of the subject. (iii) Guiding the student¿s academic and comprehensive training. Tutorials will take place at the times and under the conditions determined in Aula Global.
