Objectives
GENERAL OBJECTIVES - To be able to identify, understand, and practically apply the essential principles governing the field of telecommunications. - To develop the ability to interpret the legal and organizational framework applicable to the telecommunications sector. - To analyze, plan, assess, and control the risks arising from non-compliance with telecommunications regulations. - To distinguish the telecommunications sector from related sectors such as digital services and audiovisual media. - To identify and understand the actors involved in the sector, as well as their rights and obligations. - To be able to determine the requirements for the provision and organization of services that are essential for legal counselling in the telecommunications field. - To interpret, analyze, and evaluate the regulatory framework governing the telecommunications sector, with the capacity to provide general legal advice. - To develop a critical capacity for the analysis of legal texts to ensure their proper interpretation and, where appropriate, application in the relevant areas of the Master¿s program. - To identify the authorities and bodies involved in this field, including their competences, actions, and decisions. SPECIFIC OBJECTIVES - To identify and understand the technological foundations underpinning telecommunications networks and services. - To identify and understand the economic principles that determine the functioning of the telecommunications market. - To distinguish between competition law and regulatory law and to acquire the foundational knowledge necessary to further explore telecommunications law. - To differentiate the telecommunications sector from related sectors such as digital services and audiovisual media. - To identify and understand the public authorities involved in the telecommunications sector and the functions assigned to each. - To be capable of providing legal advice regarding the initiation of activities within the telecommunications sector.

Learning activities and methodology
LEARNING ACTIVITIES - Theoretical and practical lectures. - Research and retrieval of learning materials such as case law, administrative decisions, etc., and related comprehension and presentation assignments. - Individual student work, including presentations and oral defenses. - Resolution of practical case studies. Active participation in sessions is essential. As this is an in-person Master¿s programme, class attendance is a critical requirement for assessment. Students must comply with the attendance policy established in the academic regulations of the Master¿s programme and as indicated in AULA GLOBAL to be eligible for evaluation. TEACHING METHODS The teaching methodology for this course includes: - Lectures delivered by the teaching staff, supported by audiovisual and digital resources, aimed at explaining the core concepts of the subject and providing the recommended bibliography to support the students¿ learning process. - Critical reading of materials assigned by the instructor, including press articles, reports, decisions, textbooks, and/or academic articles, either for class discussion or to enhance and consolidate understanding of the subject matter. - Resolution of practical cases or problems, individually or in groups, as assigned by the instructor. - Class presentations and moderated discussions of topics related to the subject matter, including case law, legislation, regulatory decisions, etc. - Preparation of assignments and reports, either individually or in groups, involving independent research by the student. TUTORIALS Students will have access to tutorials with the course coordinator. These tutorials are intended to support the teaching and learning process through interaction between student and instructor, with the purpose of: (i) Guiding students in their individual and group work. (ii) Providing deeper insight into various aspects of the subject. (iii) Supporting the student¿s academic and holistic development. Tutorials will be held according to the schedule and conditions established by the instructor on Aula Global.
