The public defense of the Master Thesis (TFM, Trabajo Fin de Máster) will occur when the student has passed all the subjects of the master, within the period established for this purpose in the current academic calendar for postgraduate studies and according to the regulations set by the University and by the Polytechnic School (EPS).
Objectives
At the end of the TFM, the student will have - Acquired a general knowledge about making a whole professional project related to some of the characteristic topics in Aeronautical Engineering. - Presented his work in a written document and also in an oral presentation. - Demonstrate a personal commitment to professional standards, recognizing obligations to society, the profession and the environment
Skills and learning outcomes
Description of contents: programme
The Master Thesis (MT) implies the development, presentation and defense of an original and individual work consisting in a complete professional project in Aeronautical Engineering, synthesizing the competences acquired during the Master program. The MT will be presented to a university committee after all other credits in the study plan have been completed. The offer is posted on TFEPE ( project board ) : https://sigma-web.uc3m.es/InicioAlumno.html Tasks to be performed by the student include: - Presentation of work items - Collection and analysis of information for the MT - Development of MT - Development of report and public defense of MT
Learning activities and methodology
The TFM will be developed under the supervision of an academic tutor, who will be a professor from one of the departments involved in the teaching activities of the Master, and who will participate as a director of advisor of the student work. The work may also have a co-director who may be from the same department, another UC3M department or even external. Learning activities, methodology and tutorships will be organized according to the rules specified by the University and the EPS. SPECIFIC LEARNING ACTIVITIES - Tutorials (1.5 ECTS credits) - Student's personal work (10.5 ECTS credits) aimed at completing the TFM - Presentation and defense of the work carried out before a Committee of professors of the master. The specific regulations of the TFM establish the evaluation criteria of the Master Thesis.
